Diary Week 15
Karaoke and Lunch
January 14th, I went to karaoke with Ayaka Morikawa. It was Wednesday, but not school. She likes Ariana Grande very much and I like Taylor Swift, so we sang their songs. Ayaka was good at sing Ariana's song. I was surprised. I want you to listen to her singing voice.After karaoke we had lunch at "pomu no ki". This is omelet rice restaurant. It is one of my most favorite foods. It was very nice day for me.
Parents' birthday
Now I making album for my parents. January 24th is my 20th birthday, I think it is also my parents' birthday because 20 years ago this day, my parents started to the career of "parents". Therefore, I want to tell them how much I appreciate them and love them. I wan to surprise them. This 20 years is very fast, but I had a lot of great experiences. If possible, I want to say thank you all the people who I met in my life.
6 months
January 17th, my host sister Lucia became 6 months old. When I met her, she was just 2 weeks old and premature baby. I was surprised that baby grow up so fast. I think she is the cutest baby girl I have ever seen. In the future, I want to talk with her in English. My host family’s existence is one of motivations that I want to improve my English language skills.
New Year party
January 17th, Yuko Hasumoto, Mika Uemura and I held New Year party, shinnenkai in Jpanese. Machiko Sugi could not come because of part time job. We talked about spring vacation plans! In spring vacation, we are planning to travel to my hometown Amakusa, go to see Cirque-du-Soleil performance and I and Yuko going to watch soccer game! I am looking forward to spring vacation, but before that I should study hard for the exam...
9.11
Now I researching about "9.11" because my presentation topic of American history class is 9.11. It was really shocking news. At that time, I was only 6 year-old, but I remember this shocking news. I know this news, but I do not know well. I can get the chance to know about that, so I want to understand deeply. We Japanese do not have enough awareness of crisis for terrorism. However, I think now we should know that kind of news.

Diary Week 14
Curly Fries
On January 7th, I went to McDonald's with Yuko Hasumoto because we wanted to eat curly fries. last summer, we went to Minnesota on a home stay program together and then we had chance to eat curly fries. I had ever eaten french fries, but it was first time to eat curly fries. It is crispy and very good taste!! I prefer curly fries to french fries. McDonald's in Japan started to sell curly fries January 6th. It is good news for us. we can eat it in Japan. I will go there very often.
Influenza
January 6th I got a vaccination of influenza. After coming-of-age ceremony, many my friends get influenza. I don't want to get it because I don't want to absent from school, call off my plans and suffer from hard symptoms. In addition, we have a lot of exams a few weeks later. It is most important point for me. Now I am very fine, but I should care to wash my hands well and sleep and eat well(not over eat and sleep).
One of my Dreams
I sometimes search or watch some videos about the Pacific war. The reason why I am interested in it. Especially suicide attack(kamikaze attack) because one of the bases was in my hometown. I learned the site of the base is the junior high school I graduate from. In addition, boys who died by suicide attack were same age as me or younger. I sometimes think if they still alive, Japan has more great technologies. I want to go some battlegrounds in the future. This is one of my dreams.
TOEIC test
January 11th, I took TOEIC test. It was first time official TOEIC test for me. There were various people in the test center. For example, university students or older people. I think I could not do well because I could not study enough. I decided to read more English sentences, listen more English and study grammar harder. I want to try again and again and get high score (800 or more) by I take immigration officer's exam.
Cooking
January 12th is off day for me because Kumamoto city held coming-of-age ceremony and most of my friends attended it, so I did not have friend who has free time like me. Therefore, I decided to cook something. I made meat sauce spaghetti. I love my mother's meat sauce spaghetti, so I wanted to reproduce her recipe. I used a lot of vegetables such as onions, carrots and eggplant. I think it was delicious, but can not beyond that of my mom yet.

Diary Week 13
Christmas Party
December 25th Mika, Machiko, Yukari, Katsuma and I were hold Christmas party at my home. In Japan, people meet their boyfriend or girlfriend, but we don't have it. We ate pizza, ice cream, chicken and drink some alcohol. We talked about our romances and watched DVDs. We stayed up late that night. Christmas is not Japanese culture, so I don't know very well. I want to experience Christmas day in other countries.
Dear John
December 26th, I watched the movie Dear John. My favorite acterss Amanda Seyfried appeared this movie, so I thought I want to watch it. John is soldier of America. Amanda play the role of his girlfriend. Japan have not army but Self-Defense forces, so I was little surprised about this situation. I feel love between John and her girlfriend, John and his father. Love is very important point of human. I think this is one of best movie ever.
High school friend
January 2nd, I went to my high school's soft ball ground and play softball with my previous teammates. We played softball together when we were a high school student. We enjoyed play it because we love to play it. I felt very happpy to play it great teammates again. My high school days are one of good memories of my life thanks to them. Now we go to school our own places, but sometimes I want to meet them, play softball with them and go to dinner together.
Coming of age ceremony
January 3rd, I had Coming of age ceremony in my hometown. In this ceremony, most of girls are wear kimono. Kimono is Japanese traditional cloth, but we Japanese don't wear it very often because it is expensive, very tight and don't know how to wear it. It was my third time wearing kimono. It was very tight and I could not walk well, but I felt like I become a real Japanese woman. In this ceremony, I could meet a lot of old friends. I could enjoy it.
Reunion
After the coming of age ceremony, we had reunion party. Our homeroom teachers of junior high school were come to this party. It was our first time reunion, so I met their first time I graduated from junior high school. I talked about my future with them because my second dream is become junior high school English teacher. In addition we talked memories with teachers and classmates. I want to do reunion party soon again!!

Week Diary 12
Christmas card
December 16th, I wrote christmas cards and sent it for my host families. However, I sent it very late, so it might not arrive Minnesota by the Christmas. It's big mistake, But I thisnk it's okay because I wrote happy new year too. In addition, I wrote all my feelings. I want to tell them they are my great host families , how much I love them and full of gratitude for them. I hope my cards arrive at Minnesota safely.
Micro teaching
December 18th I did micro teaching in my teaching class. My first dream is become immigration officer, but my second dream is become English teacher, so I take teaching class. I taught reading part. I prepared some cards and practiced reading the sentence fluently. I had enough preparation, but I was very nervous. I respect all teacher because they did their class proudly. I think I did my best. Professor Kamimoto praised my pronunciation. I was very happy and get confidence, but I want to study English harder.
Mother and Brother
December 20th, my mother and younger brother came to my apartment. My brother live in dormitory now, but he finished his second semester and dormitory was closed, so mother pick him up. On their way to home they came to my room. Mother bring some dishes and made soup for me. I like cooking, so I often cook some dishes and eat myself, but mother's fish is the best. I want to return to my home early.
High school's Friends
December 21st, I went to the dinner with my high school's friends. They and I played softball together when we was a high school students. We ate green tea catechin nabe. It's healthy dishes. We had a long chat over the old days. High school days is most busy and I had many not good memories, but most enjoyable times. They and I were help each other when I was in trouble, so we can keep our friendship now.

Now I reading the book"eien no zero" This is very famous book. I watched it as a movie. I moved it, so I wanted to read the book. This story is about special attack corps. Eien means forever in English. Zero was the Japanese war-plane. About 70 years ago, young men were can not alive if they want to live. They devoted their lives to country. I want to know about war or special attack corps more and more.

December 8th is the last day for my older friend to work at Seven-Eleven. Seven-Eleven is my part-time job place. She was great worker. She was trusted from owner, store managers and all workers. I respect her. Especially, I and she going to same university and accidentally, we graduated from same high school. Therefore, we often went to dinner and talked a lot. I was very happy to choose this job and meet her. I am full of gratitude for her.
Making cookies
December 11th is my friend Machiko Sugi's birthday, so December 9th I made chocolate cookies for her! I do not like chocolate, but she loves it very much. Especially she often ate chocolate cookies last summer in Minnesota, so I decided to make chocolate cookies for her birthday. I like cooking , so I enjoyed making cookies. In addition, I went to buy another present. I bought me's wall clock. Me is character of Moomin. She also love this character. I love the time when I make or choose something for someone's birthday.
Movie
December 12th, I watched the movie "TIME". My most favorite American actress Amanda Seyfrid appeared this movie. In the future, people use their time as money, so weathly people can live forever, but poor people die. This is unfair world.Their growth is stop 25 year-old. Howevr in fact some of wealthy people do not want to live forever, they tired their life because they are 100 or 200 year-old. I do not want to live this world. I learned our time is very important and I do not want to waste my time.
Talking
December 13th, I went to dinner with Ayaka Morikawa. We love yakitori, so we went to eat it. we talked about classmates, teachers, our futures and our romances. We are very busy recently, so it is very important to relax and talked a lot. I think she was good listener and great adviser. I can be relax with her, she likes mother, older sister but she is best friend. I thisk I am very lucky to make friends with her.
Shooting Stars
December 14th, I went to Aso because we want to watch Shooting stars. December 12th-14th was the time when we can see Geminid meteor shower. I could see a lot of shooting stars, but there was very very cold! Aso is colder than Kumamoto city. We should bring heating pad. Aso is very nice spot we watch the stars, so I want to live in Aso expect cold seasons.
